Darling Mine - Niagara Wedding Photography
This image hit me right in the feels. It is the epitome of "the value of a moment". The lines leading right to the family and the way they are framed by the decorations, the lighting, the intimate moment. Everything. This would have been my choice even without the write up because the image alone tells a beautiful and powerful story of love! But the write up just put me over the top...
This wedding was by far one of the most life changing personally. Emma delivered their baby boy at the local children's hospital where he stayed. Prior to their wedding, they asked about the possibility of going to visit him on their wedding day at the hospital about an hour away - there was no hesitation, we absolutely needed to.
After we arrived, we walked through the NICU with nurses lining either side of the aisle, clapping and congratulating Emma and Alex and as we turned the corner to their little boy's room, we all stopped short. The entire room had been decorated with signs and doilies for their wedding. And their little guy was dressed in a three-piece suit to match his dad.
As they said their goodbyes to him, I backed out of the room to give them their space. That is when this moment happened; over his crib, his parents turned to each other for comfort.
I'm so incredibly thankful to have been there for my couple. I am still brought to tears when I think of this day and what these nurses did for them. Knowing I could do something so meaningful for such a wonderful couple (or any of my couples) is beyond fulfilling.
