1. Please tell us about yourself…
I’m a wife and mom to two adorable girls. I’ve lived in Oklahoma my entire life. I love sushi and diet coke, and I eat way too much chocolate.
2. Can you describe your style in 3 words? Why those words?
Dramatic, Simple, Beautiful. I love timeless elegance. I want to photograph beautiful things. I think it’s wonderful that people want to photograph the realness of daily life, but it’s not for me. I want to photograph things that are larger than life.
3. What sparked your passion for photography?
I got into photography when my daughter was born. I thought she was so cute that she deserved weekly portrait sessions, and since we couldn’t afford weekly photo sessions, I figured it would be cheaper to buy a camera. The jury’s still out on that one, but I have so many photographs of both of my girls, so it has been completely worth it.
4. What’s in your camera bag right now, what do use the most? the least?
My most loved lenses are my 135L and my 28mm. I love long lenses for outdoor images and the Canon 135L just has a magical quality. My 28mm is most often on my camera indoors. It allows me to capture my girls inside our house where space can sometimes be tight. I love that it’s small and light.
5. What is the biggest challenge you face as a photographer?
By nature, I’m a very technical and analytical person. I love learning new skills and learning the rules and mastering them. It’s the things beyond technique that challenge me. Emotion and artistry are something I constantly seek
